SurvivalPick analysis
Our assessment
Lighting is one of the most immediate needs during an unexpected power failure. An Etekcity four-pack distributes portable LED light among bedrooms, a kitchen, vehicle supplies or a family evacuation kit. A collapsible lantern is convenient when hands-free area lighting is more useful than the narrow beam from a flashlight, especially for reading instructions, checking supplies or moving around a dark shelter.
A practical household plan is to assign a lantern to each important location and make sure everyone knows where it is stored. Keep matching backup batteries on hand according to the chosen configuration and test operation before storm season. Small lanterns are useful companions to a brighter work light or flashlight rather than substitutes for lighting an entire property.
SurvivalPick verdict: Blackouts, storm kits and family emergency lighting.
